Scott Azer
VP of Cryogenic Systems
Over the past decade or two, we've seen a significant shift in the way physicists and material scientists acquire their experimental apparatus. Researchers increasingly prefer to purchase comprehensive application-specific solutions, which combine cryogenics, measurement electronics, and software into a single package. Participating in the specification, development, and execution of solutions which appeal to the research community is very rewarding, and it is a pleasure to work closely with such a talented and accomplished team here at Lake Shore.

Scott Azer has worked in the cryogenic industry for more than 40 years. He holds a Mechanical Engineering Technology degree from Northeastern University and joined Janis Research in 1981 as a Cryogenic System Assembly/Test Technician, before shifting to a supervisory role. He subsequently moved from manufacturing to sales, working first as a Sales/Applications Engineer and then Sales Manager. More recently, he held the roles of VP of Sales and Marketing, VP of Business Development, and finally Chief Growth Officer. In this most recent position, his responsibilities included oversight of product development, sales, marketing, and international distribution of Janis products, as well as corporate management functions as a director of Janis Research Co., Inc.
Currently, as our VP of Product Management for Cryogenic Systems, he manages all of our Janis brand products, including liquid nitrogen (LN2), liquid helium (LHe), and closed-cycle refrigerator (cryogen-free) cryostats, LHe cooled and cryogen-free superconducting magnet systems, cryogenic and cryogen-free probe stations, application-specific lab cooling systems, as well as Lake Shore brand cryogenic and cryogen-free probe stations. Scott works closely with cross-functional groups representing product development, marketing, sales, distribution, and manufacturing, with the goal of developing and selling cryogenic products to better serve today's research community.
