When talking with customers, my discussions often focus on the most minute details—the size of a bare chip sensor, how a probe tip behaves on a sample, and so on. I enjoy these detailed discussions, and I believe customers do as well because, once they understand all the mechanical and electrical characteristics involved, they’re able to make a more informed buying decision.
Marshall Calhoun is Lake Shore’s Regional Sales Manager for the eastern half of the U.S. and Puerto Rico. He is a 2008 graduate of Penn State University, receiving a BSc in Physics with a minor in Mathematics, and came to Lake Shore in 2013. Previously, Marshall was with a leading U.S. supplier of cryogenic products and systems, where he spent five years advising North American universities and government labs on cryogenic solutions. At Lake Shore, Marshall is our day-to-day liaison with customers in the field, providing guidance on how to best incorporate Lake Shore technology into their lab. He also represents Lake Shore at industry and academic conferences, and national lab user meetings, and coordinates the beta testing of new cryogenic thermometry products used in Department of Energy research. Additionally, Marshall assists users with custom ordering of products designed for highly specialized measurements, and based on feedback gathered from Lake Shore’s core users, works with our product development engineers in modifying existing system designs to meet the requirements of today’s researchers.
