Brian Keith

Sales Engineer

The best part of my job is speaking with top scientists all around the world about their experimental goals and helping them realize those goals. I am truly proud that our cutting-edge products are part of some of the most fascinating research endeavors being undertaken in world-renowned labs today.

Brian Keith

Dr. Brian Keith is a graduate of Bridgewater State University, earning BSc degrees in Physics and Mathematics, both in 2005. While at BSU, he worked with Dr. Thomas Kling of the Physics Department, researching gravitational lensing (the weak bending of light from distant stars as they pass by massive objects, a phenomenon predicted by Einstein's theory of general relativity and confirmed through experiment). He also graduated from Clark University, earning his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics in 2012. While attending Clark, he worked with Dr. Christopher Landee of the Novel Magnetic Materials Group. Dr. Keith’s research involved the study of the magnetic properties of low-temperature molecular magnetic crystals using a Quantum Design SQUID magnetometer.

He joined Janis Research in 2012, and in his nearly eight years as a Sales Engineer with the company, he provided cryogenic equipment to laboratory scientists around the world. In his current position as Sales Engineer for Lake Shore, he is responsible for advising customers on product selection, primarily for Janis product lines. Because of his background studying magnetic material properties and his experience consulting customers on product solutions for low-temperature measurement, he is able to assist with the selection of equipment for a wide range of material characterization and cryogenic applications. Dr. Keith also issues estimates and quotes, coordinates product shipment schedules, and provides pre- and post-sale customer support as required.
